One foot forwardHere is track that pays tribute to many great jazz musicians-most prominently John Coltrane. The track poses the question: "What would Trane's music sound like in today's world of beat creation and the repetitive rhythms that are currently prominent in Pop songs?" This is the result of that inquiry. Read more about it below...

The Birth of "One Foot Forward"This is my tribute to John Coltrane. I used the chord changes of "Giant Steps" and added some beats (created by trombone sounds and editing) to create a unique vision of the famous song. In this track I heard in my minds ear a trading off between an up-beat section and a more elongated section to create contrasting moods. The result is something unique that draws influence from other great composers, like Gill Evans and Joe Zawinul. In my search for new ideas, I'm starting to get a strong impression of where I draw my greatest inspiration.
