My first release: "Yeah, See?"

The artwork is by the hand of my good friend and amazing artist/trombonist, Joel Adams. On a side note-Joel leads a group called the Chicago Yestet.  This is perhaps my all time favorite group to perform in!

I thought it would be cool to feature a drawing from Joel on each single I release. See below for more drawings and info on my project.

The birth of "Yeah, See?

"Humphrey Bogart, Edward G. Robinson, James Cagney, and Mel Blanc! Names sound familiar? The old gangster movies, predating "Scarface" and "The Godfather" were the source of inspiration for this one.  But more to the point, Mel Blanc's parody of Edward G. in "Rackateer Rabbit" always made me laugh. It has become a standing joke between me and my friends and family: 

"Yeah, so you make sure the garbage goes out tonight, see, or it'll be curtains for ya, get it?"
"Ya don't say?"
That's right, 'cause I'm the Big Toe around here, See?"
"Yeah?"
"Yeah!"

You get the picture......

(ok-not a deep message of world peace, not a call for honesty in positions of power, not a story of lovers, cheaters, desperation, elation, trial, terror, the Edmund Fitzgerald, ect. but why not have a laugh and enjoy some good music.....)
