My Third Release: "Rain Dance"

Here comes the rain after a long drought. Rain washes away, makes new, gives life and growth. The season of abundance is upon us. Now it's time to eat, drink, dance and celebrate! And keep that clown at bay.....

The Birth of "Rain Dance"

I had this rhythm going through my head, and it made me think of a far away land-maybe on earth, and maybe not. There is a tribal calling to the gods for good fortune and rain after a long drought. In my minds ear, I heard  a monsoon, other-worldly beasts howling, whistling and hissing with grateful joy. The rain ends, and the party begins.  The Samba elicits festive celebration around the bonfire with  a bevy of abundance! 

A simple looping rhythmic cadence makes an ideal vehicle for some weaving improvisation.


Just like Joel's Drawings, I don't always know where my music is going to go, but I'm pretty happy with the result of "Rain Dance"!
